On a More Personal Note

I'm a slow-living small business owner, a cortado lover, and an avid enthusiast of mid-day naps. For my toddler and me.

I value simplicity, deep connection, and books.

While building my writing practice, I stumbled across Ira Glass’ talk on closing the gap. He advises young creatives to generate a huge volume of work to close the gap between taste and ability. I took his words to heart in a very literal way and turned out several novels between 2018 and 2025. I learned a lot through generating so many pages, and I wish more expedient paths on other emerging writers.
For the surprise of a lifetime, stepping into motherhood bolstered writing. When she sleeps, I sleep or write. No errands or dishes. No laundry or food prep. Putting a firm boundary around these sacred hours is the product of privilege, a counter-cultural choice, and a resounding, repetitive YES to the value of dreams.
